About This Test
Abstaining from wheat consumption is probably the easiest way of treating a wheat allergy, but this is not always so simple. Wheat is a hidden ingredient in many foods such as bread, cereals, cakes etc. Even some ice creams and soy sauce contain wheat. In order to try and minimise the chances of having a reaction to wheat, it is important to ensure that the ingredients of food are always thoroughly checked. Sometimes common allergens like wheat are linked to celiac disease. A wheat allergy occurs when the body produces antibodies as a response to certain proteins found in wheat. In the case of celiac disease, the trigger protein is gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, oats, barley and other grains. If you notice skin flare ups, problems with digestion, hives, etc. then taking the wheat and gluten intolerance test may be of benefit to you.
