Why take this test?
You want a thorough check that covers common everyday food categories
You want to check your intolerance levels
You want to see how your eating habits may be affecting your health and lifestyle
You want an easy and convenient way to check the main food risks that may be affecting you
While it is possible for a person to suffer an allergy to food additives, it is more common to have an intolerance. It is likely for someone who has an intolerance to food additives to also have food sensitivity to many other foods. Some of the problematic food additives that we test for are, tartrazine (this is known to increase symptoms of asthma, dermatitis, etc.), some antioxidants (they are often used to prevent fats and oils from being compromised), emulsifiers (including lecithin which is found in eggs and soy, as well as, different types of gums which are included in the ingredients to stabilise the food), aspartame and other sweeteners, sulfates and much more. Unlike many other allergy testing services that only test for categories as a whole (emulsifiers, preservatives...), we look further into these categories and break down exactly which type of emulsifier you are intolerant to. We also check the severity of your intolerance, for instance, you may only be mildly intolerant to Gum Arabic, but severely intolerant to Guar Gum. This will aid your understanding and make it easier for you to cut out specific food additives from your diet as opposed to letting go of all food additives altogether.
